Tanja Poutiainen-Rinne

Tanja Poutiainen-Rinne - World Cup winner, Entrepreneur and mother

Tanja Poutiainen-Rinne is the most successful alpine skier in Finland. Tanja's career was long and full of wonderful and memorable moments. When Tanja celebrated her first first World Cup victory at Levi in 2004,  the whole Finland celebrated with her. On top of several World Championships medals, she also has one even brighter  medalin her pocket: a silver Olympic medal.

Tanja decided to hang up her skis and take a break from competing in 2014. After this, she started a completely new and different chapter in her life: she settled down to her old hometown in Rovaniemi and started a new role as a mother for her lovely twins alongside her husband.

However, Tanja has not completely been out of the sports world, as her main occupation is now at an intensive rehabilitation center called Comeback Center, which is located in Rovaniemi. Tanja has also been appointed as a Member of the Board on the International Ski Federation’s Alpine Skiing Management Team.

Levi has a special place in Tanja's heart. The Poutiainen-Rinne family has their own cottage in Levi, where they come to spend quality time together all year round.
